POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position:                                 Upward Bound Counselor

Length of Contract:              11 month position      

Beginning Date:                   September 1, 2008

QUALIFICATIONS:   A) Master’s degree in counseling; B) three or more years of experience working in the field of counseling; C) two years experience working with youth from disadvantaged backgrounds, preferably working with low-income, disabled students; D) knowledge of TRIO and Upward Bound Programs; E) ability to communicate effectively with person from diverse backgrounds; F) demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged and disabled students and their families; G) preference will be given to applicants who had an educational and/or economic background similar to the target population.

Salary:                                 Commensurate with certification and experience
